About K&C

Our Story

United States 10-Dance Champions Casey and Kayci Treu share more than the same name; they also share the same passion for ballroom dancing—standard and latin. Born and raised in the USA, their 10-Dance partnership started while they were still full-time students at Brigham Young University and dancers on the world-renowned BYU Ballroom Dance Touring Company. During their time with the team, they toured China, Hong Kong, the U.K., Argentina, Chile, and much of the United States, also winning the British Latin Formation Championships in Blackpool, England.

Juggling full-time school schedules, team rehearsals and shows, work, and individual training and competing schedules, Casey & Kayci rapidly progressed to become the United States 10-Dance Champions and two-time United States Representatives to the World Championships. They are also consistent top contenders for both the latin and ballroom styles.

K&C love sharing their passion for dance with others, be it though teaching, performing, or competing, and love helping others along the way. They are ISTD Certified Teachers (Licentiate Level) and several of their students have won or placed at the U.S. National Championships and achieved success at other competitions. The Treus believe in the pursuit of excellence, both as dancers and as people, and hope to inspire others to reach their full potential.

Casey’s Story

Casey Treu started dancing when he was seven years old, competing in all styles of ballroom. He won the National Youth Latin Championship twice with two different partners, also claiming the National Youth 10-Dance title, and placing third in Under 21 Latin. Casey also holds several National Latin and Standard Formation Championship titles from his years on the BYU Youth Formation Team. When he was 19, Casey put dancing on hold to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving the people of Accra, Ghana. As a youth, he was invited to perform as a soloist in an international tour to China. After his mission, he returned to China to perform as a member of the Brigham Young University Ballroom Dance Company. Both trips were documented in the TV specials “Bridge to China” and “Full Circle”.

Kayci’s Story

Kayci Treu began dancing when she was four years old. She primarily studied classical ballet in the Vaganova style, performing principal and soloist roles in many classical ballets and original works, while also training in Russian and Spanish character and contemporary dance. Kayci always wanted to learn ballroom (her parents met doing ballroom dance at BYU) and began immediately upon arriving at Brigham Young University. She trained in all styles of ballroom dance, working her way to the top BYU team in just under two years, out of some 4,000 students who enroll in ballroom each semester. With her strong ballet background, Kayci also found a love for theater arts and began studying that style, becoming a two-time National Theater Arts Champion.
